Maureen O'Hara Biography

 Maureen O'Hara, an American actor and singer with Irish origin was a well-known celebrity. Her fiery, passionate performances she played in a range of American films were loved by the beautiful green-eyed beauty sporting fiery hair and flaming eyes. Her attractive appearance and natural beauty was well-loved. She was known in Hollywood as the "Queen of Technicolor". Her characters onscreen reflected her strong, brave spirit which fought for recognition and survival in a male-dominated industry. She was known as the "tough Irish girl" and was not willing to sacrifice her image or respect to gain the roles she was able to get by merit. In her time in the film arena, she always stood up against discrimination and unfair treatment against women actors and for this, she earned lots of admirers. The autobiography of her, "Tis Herself", was published in 2004. The book was an honest and honest description of her life, and the difficulties she encountered when climbing the ladder of success. She was an adventurous person who was not afraid to perform her own stunts. She was an actress in over 60 films in the past and gained a great deal of fame internationally. She got married in 1968 to Charles F. Blair Jr., a former pilot chief and brigadier who pioneered transatlantic aviation. O'Hara was retired a couple of years after the couple's marriage. Her happiness was short-lived since Blair passed away in a tragic plane crash in the year 1978. In the same year , she was diagnosed with uterine cancer and required urgent surgery. She eventually recovered. Her health declined in the course of time and she was later diagnosed with six heart attacks and short-term memory loss, as well as diabetes mellitus type 2. O'Hara, 95 years old, passed peacefully in Boise (Idaho) on 24 October , 2015.
